Sohan Mewada is a transnational security analyst and practitioner specializing in autocratic alignment and hybrid warfare. He advises principals across defense, intelligence, media, and civil society on mapping adversary behavior, anticipating asymmetric campaigns, and building resilience and redundancy against systemic vulnerabilities.
Applying grand strategy as context — the integration of seemingly distinct operational domains toward long-term ends — he traces how Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea weaponize supply chains, execute corporate espionage against Western firms, orchestrate cognitive warfare, and target dissidents abroad.
He draws on five years assessing autocratic behavior across Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, alongside sustained contact with frontline communities in nearly every major kinetic conflict since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
At the Renew Democracy Initiative, he built the analytic infrastructure for sustained coverage of autocratic alignment, founding and operationalizing The Next Move with Garry Kasparov — growing it to 60,000 subscribers and over 100,000 followers — and convening cross-sector coalitions of dissidents, industry leaders, and policymakers to confront autocratic interference in open societies.
